Revision Improvements for the EPC 10 USB Patch Clamp Amplifier with built-in LIH 8+8 Interface

With the EPC 10 USB Revision "T" amplifiers we added a few new hardware features improving the specifications of the EPC 10 USB for the following main application fields:

• Current Clamp Measurements (extended voltage measuring range, extended current injection capability and filtering of the voltage signal)
• Electrochemical Measurements (extended voltage stimulus range to +/- 2 V)

The improved specifications are already taken into account in the discussions of the PATCHMASTER Tutorial ("Using the EPC 10 in Current Clamp Mode") .

Extended Stimulus Range

The EPC 10 USB Revision "T" amplifiers feature an extended stimulus range in low and medium gain range. The extended stimulus range...

• increases the voltage stimulus range to +/- 2 V in voltage clamp mode
• increases the voltage measuring range to +/- 5 V in current clamp mode
• increases the current injection capability in current clamp mode by a factor of 5

The extended stimulus range can be activated in the EPC 10 USB menu:

Filter-2 Bypass

The EPC 10 USB Revision "T" amplifiers provide the option for using the "Filter 2" for the current or the voltage signal. This new feature e.g. allows filtering of the voltage signal in a current clamp measurement using the Filter 2. If the Filter 2 mode is set to "V_Bessel" or "V_Butterworth", then the current signal is filtered by Filter 1 only.
